usually open one/two weeks, delivering profits in the 5 to 30-50% range.

Market Trends

Equities - In the last three months all equities indexes have enjoyed a nice rally which, for the well being of the average investor, we hope will continue.

However - the better informed investors - our readers - should be aware that so far this bullish behaviour can only be classified as a countertrend.

As the S&P 500 monthly performance abundantly shows (Figure 1), the long term trend is still quite in the bearish. What we are currently seeing is a relatively extended move up, which seems to indicate the possible beginning of a trend reversal. This trend, however, needs to be confirmed.

Bullish long term positions should be kept on hold, and new positions should not yet be opened. We will keep focusing on short and intermediate term -bullish- positions.

Figure 2 shows the OUTPACEsys triggers that allowed us to make several very profitable trades in this period. (As usual, confirmation triggers, indicated by multiple up- or down- arrows, can be interpreted as confirmation, late-entry or new entry point for added positions.

Both Dow Jones and NASDAQ indexes show the same behaviour, as shown in Figure 3 for the NQ.

Crude Oil also has experienced a strong recovery from the March low. The last couple of weeks have been confined in a trading range just below long term resistance which will probably continue this uneventful choppiness for a few more days at least.

Gold is still in its up-trend, but is poised for choppiness until past the current short-term resistance.
